Join us on Thursday 4 June at 17h00 for 17h15 for an Artist Talk on the Stellenbosch Art Mile with acclaimed land artist and sculptor Strijdom van der Merwe, as part of Stellenbosch First Thursdays.

Gather at the Stellenbosch Landbousaal and walk with us to JOURNEY,  Strijdom’s striking bridge installation situated nearby. In this work, the bridge crosses a flowing river, where the water's movement enhances the experience of transition and connection. The work also frames a unique perspective of the Stellenbosch mountains, drawing attention to their contours and presence in the landscape.

Strijdom’s artistic vision merges the river’s movement and the mountain’s forms into a seamless, engaging design that enriches the journey from one side to the other.

The talk will last approximately 45 minutes and offers visitors the opportunity to gain insight into the artist’s process, ideas and relationship with the surrounding landscape.
