AMY RUSCH
B. 1990
Amy Rusch (b. 1990) is an interdisciplinary artist exploring vibrational mark-making by stitching thread into layered found plastics. Animated by sound and movement, her works connect human time with geological and archaeological scales. Techniques of cutting, stitching, and layering evoke rhythms of both fragility and endurance. Her practice draws on ocean crossings, excavations, and microscopic studies, translating embodied experience into forms of sound, vibration, and color. Exhibited widely—including Zeitz MOCAA, Norval Foundation, SMAC, FNB Art Joburg, and Investec Cape Town Art Fair—she also contributes to archaeological projects while maintaining a full-time studio practice in South Africa.
